Bondi House

South facing brick & tile semi-house in Bondi challenged chasing sunlight and connecting to the rear garden. The project consisted of the front garden, new verandah, backroom, kitchen, and upper-level bedrooms.

The timber windows were pushed out near the external skin to create deep-set frames. The render was chamfered with a crafted hand to soften the light on entry to the room. The kitchen wall to the pantry was fully covered in handmade tiles with terrazzo benchtops. The rear wall to the courtyard was again folded to emphasise the thick walls. They contain entertainment items and library books.
